Hubbell Lighting recruited me to lead its Engineering team in 2005. A 1992 graduate of Clemson University with a degree in electrical engineering, I had been working in the field, expanding my skills. As Vice President of Engineering, I was able to use this experience to continuously drive improvements across Engineering, Operations and New Product Development.
My success in that role earned me the position of Vice President of Operations in 2008, heading up 15 manufacturing facilities, materials management, logistics, engineering, and research and development.
In January 2012, I was offered the role of Vice President of Columbia and Alera Brand Management for Hubbell Lighting. This particular opportunity moved me into the field of brand management, where I am able to leverage my leadership skills and capabilities in strategic development, P&L management, new product development, and process control, while gaining new experience in sales and marketing.
Hubbell Lighting Inc., Greenville, South Carolina
I was hired at the end of 2006, as a Sustaining Engineer with the Columbia Lighting brand. In 2010, I transferred to Alera Lighting as the leader of the Sustaining Engineering group, working with both existing products in production and new products in development.
I’ve participated in numerous training classes while at Hubbell, focusing on software, specific processes, and new technology. LED continues to transform our products and the ongoing technological training I am receiving allows me to keep up with its fast-paced development and increased role in the lighting industry; building on my previous CAD experience, the Solid Edge training added 3-D modeling to my capabilities; and Root cause analysis, LEAN, and a Greenbelt training program have taught me additional skills that I apply on a daily basis.
Working at Hubbell, you’re able to see opportunities to make a difference and are encouraged to follow through with them with management support.

I joined Hubbell in 1997 as a Line Operator. Over the years I’ve held positions of increasing responsibility, including Inspector, Quality Technician and now Quality Supervisor.
Taking advantage of Hubbell’s Tuition Reimbursement program, I have taken non-credit courses to help develop my skills as a Quality Inspector, and most recently to complete my associate’s degree in business management. I am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree. Along with this great benefit, Hubbell has experienced mentors that have helped me along the way who are always willing to offer insight and guidance. All I need is a willingness to succeed.

I started with Hubbell has a Field Service Technician with GAI-Tronics. After two years, I was asked to conduct a training session for the International Sales Representatives, which led to a role as International Sales Engineer. We were just beginning to expand internationally, so I jumped at the opportunity. Two short years later, the International Marketing Group was created and I moved into the role of Marketing Specialist.
In addition to my Hubbell education, I took advantage of our Tuition Reimbursement Program to earn my bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing.
Throughout my career, I have always looked for new and challenging opportunities, working in a variety of functions, including Marketing, Operations and SAP Implementation. The key to my success, though, has been my managers, who were always supportive of my efforts to grow in my career.
